I didn't want the night to end!!!  On May 11th, 2004 (which is also my birthday), Eric and I got engaged.  It was a wonderful night full of lots of surprises and friends.  To the left, is a picture of us at Del Friscos for the first "activity" of the evening.

I was running late, preparing the activities for Amy and I, but when I finally picked her up from work I greeted her with 10 Orange Tulips. We got in the car, and I took the most out of the way route possible - this was to confuse Amy so that she wouldn't be able to guess where we were going. Finally, we arrived at Del Frisco's. We had an amzing dinner of steak and lobster (22 lbs of lobster!). Then we left to go to Activity Two.

I got on I-4 and headed east. I told her to relax, that number two was just a leisurely drive. It killed her not to know what I had planned. I drove up and parked in front of a huge house across the street from a lake. She freaked out thinking we were going to get in trouble. I told her to relax - we had arrived at Activity 2 and assured her we had permission to be here. I pulled a bouquet of sun flowers out of the trunk, along with a candle, two glasses, a blanket and a bottle of wine. We went across the street, to the dock and settled into a sun set overlooking the lake. We talked about our life, our love, our relationship. We kissed and made out a little. Then, I leaned over and wispored into her ear - "Amy, who I am for you is a husband that will set you free". I reached into my pocket, pulled out the ring, and said "Amy Dickinson, Will you marry me?". Crying and limp wristed, she raised her hand, and I put it on her finger. I didn't hestitate much, and whisked her away to Activity Three.

Still having to play it off, to build up the anticipation, I told her that we were just going home for this activity. I even got a call from Andrew Britton, who I was working with as a romance coach, asking me if I was on my way yet. I had to play it cool, and told amy he was just calling to see how Activity Two went, and if we were on our way to three. She bought it! As we pulled up to the Peacock Room parking lot, and got out of the car - her knees got weak as she noticed more and more of her friends cars in the lot. We walked in and she was suprised by a dozen of our friends - each presenting her with a pink rose, that I had dropped off earlier. We laughed and drank with our friends for a while. When we left - I told her, now for Activity 4.

We pulled up to the house, and I unlocked the door, and let her in. Inside was soft R'n'B music playing on the stereo, and a trail of rose petals that led to our bedroom. On the bed, shaped in a heart, were more rose petals...

This night fulfilled on my intentions beautifully:

    •   To Suprise Her.
    •   To Make Her Feel Special and Loved.
    •   and To Totally Sweep Her Off Her Feet.
